In the heart of Skåne, in a picturesque location surrounded by forests and water, lies Fogdaröd, a non-profit association with a hundred-year tradition that has developed a high quality in meeting and supporting each individual to utilize and develop their resources.
Fogdaröd has been running Karolinaskolan for 25 years, a nature-based high school with a focus on gardening, specifically designed for young people with some form of neuropsychiatric disability, such as high-functioning autism and ADHD. The school has a total of 40 students and is based on a holistic solution with boarding facilities.
Do you want to work closely with young people in this nature-oriented environment and be an important adult in their daily lives? We are looking for new staff with experience working with youth who need special support in school as well as after school, in the boarding house.
Your work field encompasses both the boarding house and the school. You will follow the students during parts of the school day and work as a teaching assistant in theoretical subjects and/or in practical gardening work at the school. After school, you will support and guide the students in their daily lives at the boarding house - in practical tasks such as cleaning and laundry, as well as in social interactions and the personal development of the youth. You will help create conditions for a meaningful leisure time. Mentorship with motivating and clarifying conversations, as well as documentation, is an important part of the work at the boarding house.
The working hours are scheduled Monday to Friday and may be distributed over days, evenings, and may also involve sleeping nights.
The position is a temporary contract, with the possibility of extension. Upon extension, the employment will transition to a permanent position, following the school year.
Minimum 75% working hours. Start as soon as possible.
You should have post-secondary education such as:
- Treatment pedagogue
- Social pedagogue
- Teaching assistant
- Leisure leader
or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
Knowledge, interest, and experience regarding high-functioning youth with NPF is desirable. We want you on our team if you are a person who is attentive, adaptable, curious, structured, and engaged. Collaboration and teamwork are natural for you – with colleagues, families, and stakeholders.
